Hello. This is Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, a man who love boxing and loved by boxing!

This page shows the latest PFP rankings. (E3)

Latest PFP ranking list announced by major media

RING Magazine PFP Historical Ranking

The RING (Ring Magazine) is a monthly magazine covering boxing in the United States

Founded in 1922, RING magazine provides boxing match results, rankings, player profiles, commentary articles, and more, making it an important source of information for boxing fans.

The Ring is also called the “BIBLE of BOXING”, and its authority is still highly regarded, and the PFP rankings published by RING magazine are said to be the MOST AUTHORITATIVE PFP rankings in the world.

However, the reality is that so-called sanctioning organizations and promoters are being heavily influenced, and the content feels strange as it is a simple evaluation of the strength of boxing.

ESPN PFP Historical Ranking

ESPN (Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) is an American sports channel available on satellite and cable television.

They also provide boxing news, commentary, results, audio and video highlights.

Launched on September 7, 1979, the sports news program “SPORTS CENTER” is a huge sports channel that has been broadcast over 30,000 times.

The PFP rankings announced by ESPN are not as authoritative as RING magazine, but because they are published by a major sports channel in the United States, the home of boxing, it is a ranking that many boxing people pay attention to.

TBRB PFP Historical Ranking

TBRB (Transnational Boxing Rankings Board) is founded in October 2012 as a volunteer initiative to provide an authoritative top ten ranking in boxing, identify the only world champion in each weight class based on rigorous logic and common sense, and call for reform in the sport.

The organization is made up of 50 respected boxing journalists and record holders selected from around the world, and it is said that the PFP rankings are published without any bias towards so-called sanctioned organizations or promoters.

It is said that the TBRB rankings are fairly conservative rankings that prioritize the title, and there is a tendency for champions who have not played a match for a long time to be ranked at the top of the rankings.

BWAA PFP Historical Ranking

BWAA (The Boxing Writers Association of America) is an organization made up of professional boxing writers and journalists in the United States.

Although PFP rankings are not announced often, it is a group that is highly regarded around the world, so we would like to include it on this page as well.

BoxRec PFP Historical Ranking

BoxRec.com is a website that records the results of male and female professional boxers.

It aims to record all boxing matches and the results of each professional boxer based on the Queensberry Rules, and also includes rankings of active boxers.

In fact, the Japan Boxing Commission treats BoxRec’s results as official results, and they have made similar decisions for boxers belonging to Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia, so it is a highly reliable site. I think you can understand.

As far as I look at BoxRec’s rankings, players who have had a large number of recent matches or who have won by overwhelming their opponents remain at the top, while players who have had few matches or who have won after having a tough time even though they were against a strong opponent remain at the top. I thought it was difficult for players to rise in rank.
Unlike RING and ESPN, which tend to be inconsistent in ranking just because they are heavyweights or being dragged down by name value, I feel that BoxRec is the closest to the original meaning of PFP. .

However, it is impossible to create an accurate ranking of PFP that everyone can agree with.
No matter how you look at it, there are some oddities, but I guess it can’t be helped due to the nature of rankings.
I think the correct attitude toward all rankings is to use them as a reference only.

What is PFP?

PFP is an abbreviation for “pound for pound”.
In martial arts such as boxing, mixed martial arts, and kickboxing, it is a term that refers to the method of comparing and contrasting athletes in different weight classes, and is used as a title to indicate who is the strongest even when there is no difference in weight.
It is an indicator of who is the strongest when boxers from all weight classes fight under the same conditions.
